Rainbows and Butterflies

It's been a couple weeks - thank you for sticking with me! To read the full update, please visit my instagram post here. While I'm in Phoenix, I have limited crafty supplies but it has been so important to me to create during this difficult time.

I created this card using my Hero Arts stash that I have while I'm in Phoenix. I have the woodblock version of this rainbow, but you can find the full clear set of the the Floral Rainbow and Clouds set here. I colored the rainbow with my Faber Castell Polychromos and fussy cut with my Cutter Bee scissors.

I then used the Butterfly Confetti Fancy Die to diecut a cardstock panel that was ink blended with Dandelion, Lemon Yellow, and Butter Bar ink. I used the cut panel as a stencil, where I very lightly blended some Cotton Candy ink. Then I just added some of the cut yellow butterflies around the rainbow.

My first card features a stand-alone die that's available in the December 2024 Hero Studio Card Kit. I was so drawn to this die that I barely looked at the rest of the kit!

Hero Arts is also releasing some beautiful ombre transfer sheets today. I used a variety of the transfer sheets to piece together the parts of the card.

I cut pieces of the transfer sheets to be just the right amount for the space I wanted to fill in. Then I rubbed the transfer onto white cardstock before running the die through my Platinum 8 Machine.

My second card today features the beautiful Hero Studio December 2024 Layering Stencil of the Month...

There are some beeeaaautiful designs in this stencil pack, and you can really mix and match the combinations to get a unique look each time. I opted for the traditional butterfly pattern in traditional Monarch butterfly colors.

I started with the first stencil layer and blended the whole thing with Unicorn White Pigment Ink over Sand Cardstock. I then placed the butterfly stencil/mask inside the first layer, and ink blended right on top using Papaya Ink. To add a bit of shading, I also blended the outside edges using Pumpkin Ink.

The card was so beautiful as is that I wanted the sentiment to stay super simple. I stamped the 'happy birthday' right across the center of the butterfly. The sentiment comes from another new release set called Floral Rainbow and Clouds.

Thanks so much for stopping by! You are going to be so impressed with all the examples the team came up with today! Remember to leave your comment for a chance at a $50 gift card.
