The preschool classroom I worked in with I first moved to California was called the "Bonsai Class" - when I opened the space my in laws even bought me a little bonsai tree to decorate my classroom... I haven't been in that room for about 5 years now, but I've seen in recent photos that the tree is still in the classroom and thriving! That was all I could think of when creating this card using the Bonsai Fancy Die.
I started with the backgrounds for this card. I used Peony Ink on white cardstock to stamp the Origami Paper Bold Print. I then stamped the Words of Peace Bold Print with Periwinkle Ink onto Arctic cardstock. I created a window by die cutting the center of the Arctic cardstock with a Rounded Jewel Infinity Die and glued that panel on top of the Origami Paper panel.
Now it's time to put together the Bonsai Die! Each of the pieces that were die cut, I also shaded the edges with a similar color ink using my small blending brushes. The leaves are cut from Meadow Cardstock and shaded with Fresh Lawn ink. The trunk is cut from Cup O Joe cardstock and shaded with Cup O Joe ink. The flowers are cut from Peony cardstock and shaded with Cotton Candy ink. And lastly the container was cut from Paradise cardstock and shaded with Bermuda ink.
For the sentiment, I pulled out the beautiful Crane Wishes stamp set for the sentiment, which was stamped with Charcoal ink. The sentiment I used fits the occasion for when I received my bonsai plant, so I thought it was a full circle card moment!
