Happy summer! I'm really enjoying all the vacation-themes stamp sets and challenges that happen throughout the summer. For this card, I used some window dies from the My Monthly Hero August 2022 kit that I hadn't even opened yet. Also, how is this kit from August?! Where did this year go!? I love the finished look!
I started by heat embossing Hero Arts State-Cation Bold Print stamp (older stamp) in white embossing powder. I lightly ink blended the panel with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar, and Squeezed Lemonade.
Next was figuring out the window diecut: Hero Arts Looking Glass Forest and Mountains. This is my first time using a window diecut, and I probably didn't use the official method to build it, but the outcome works great for me (and no measuring required)!
The pieces of the diecut were colored with Distress Ink in Kitsch Flamingo, Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar, Antique Linen, Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio, and Twisted Citron. When blending with very small images, I use these mini blending brushes to make the job easier. I then added Lawn Fawn Prisma Glitter to the mountain tops and the river.
To cover up my messy stacking of the diecuts, I used my ooooold but trusty Spellbinders Square Nesting dies to create this window with black cardstock. Perfect fit!
I'll be sending this card to my mom and dad... they love to travel, hike, and camp AND I haven't seen them in quite a while.
I'm entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Summer Mood Board and the SSSW Challenge: Anything Goes.
Happy Summer!
