Easter Hop Day 2 - Pink and Lavender

Hello and welcome to Day 2 of our new 5 for 5 Easter Blog Event!  Each day our designers will post an Easter project based on that day’s theme. Today’s theme is PINK AND LAVENDER! Some of us are even offering prizes, so be sure to leave comments on each of links below for details on how to win!


On Saturday I had the super awesome pleasure of taking an art journaling class with my favorite Julie Fei-Fan Balzer! So clearly I was in a painty artsy mood for today's Pink and Lavender theme.

I used all the techniques from class, including collage, lettering, messy painting, stamping, stencils, and having a focal point. I also used a couple of Julie's new stencils by The Crafter's Workshop: "Mini Rug" and "Mini Believe Script".


Maybe you haven't noticed the typo yet... I worked on this page for 3 hours, looked at it for a day, and photographed it without realizing my typo. And then... editing the photos I realized a big glaring typo HA! I'm still posting it, unedited, to show my brain lapse. ha.

The beautiful stamps I used are from Unity Stamp Co "Wild Geranium" and the bird is from the "Dream a Little Bigger" kit.


I stamped the flower image on tissue paper and transferred it onto my journal page. Then I colored the image with my Faber Castell Design Memory Craft Stamper's Big Brush Pens. I added some sparkle with glitter Mod Podge. I finished the page by adding Whipped Spackle through my scripted TCW stencil.

    What a gorgeous page! Thanks for leaving the human element in... I wouldn't have noticed had you not pointed it out, but it makes me feel better to see even the pros have those moments. : ) Just put in one of those universal no parking signs (the P with a line through it) to have some giggles : )
