It is the official first hour of spring break woohoo! I have nothing at all planned for the week and that is ok by me. Today's post is for the Unity Friends with Flair link up and uses the current Unity Stamp of the Week called 'Flight of Courage'.
Here is a simple two photo tutorial of how I created my background of the tag. I rubbed my Distress Ink pads (tumbled glass, chipped sapphire, and peacock feathers) directly onto my craft mat, spritzed well with water, and picked up the color with my background stamp (Unity "Plump Polka Dots"). You can see on the stamp the ink doesn't look even or covered at all, but once it gets stamped onto the paper you can see the definition a lot better.
The butterfly was stamped twice and both were colored with Copic markers. I fussy cut one image whole, and the other I just cut the middle section of the butterfly. I adhered the very middle and pulled up the side of the wings to add dimension. The purple flowers are actually dollar bin metal pieces that I colored with a violet Copic. The alcohol in the Copic markers makes the color permanent on the metal, so it won't rub off once it's dry!
I added some white burlap ribbon, corrugate black paper (DCWV), and floral paper from My Mind's Eye. Some Stickles in the flower centers and on the butterfly finish it off!
Happy Friday and get shopping! Unity is having a GARAGE SALE this weekend!
