Big Rock Candy Mountains
Thank you to everyone for so many amazing birthday wishes! You all truly made it feel very special and my heart is filled with bloggy love! Thank you!
On Saturday, I woke up at 4am and jumped on a plane to Phoenix! I'm here to help my dad celebrate his birthday (and do some shopping for myself). So I am very excited to share the one layer birthday card I created for my dad. It is also inspired by the Avery Elle challenge photo.
I really loved the faded and blended colors. This photo is so whimsical, happy, and colorful.
Don't they look like pink cotton candy mountains? I used various Hero Hues inks to blend the stamps images. The mountains are colored with Copics that I really saturated in the paper to make them more watercolor-ish.
A final dab of Cotton Candy Stickles finishes off this one layer card. All stamps are from Avery Elle "Happy Camper" set. Since my parents are such big campers, hikers, backpackers etc etc this card is truly just for my dad!
Hope your day has been beautiful!

Love You More Gift Bag
This is a quick post for your Friday evening! I'm currently packing a big suitcase to take off to Phoenix tomorrow! I'll be celebrating my birthday (which was yesterday!) and my dad's birthday (this Sunday!) and I am ready to escape New England for a little bit!
I tried something new for this week's Unity Stamp Friends with Flair post. I combined a lot of Unity stamps and paper tags (from my dear friend, Donna) to create this mini gift bag. I'm also entering it in the Moxie Fab challenge "Premade Embellishments" and "Metal, Wood, and Cork" challenge.
This was so fast to throw together, I know I'll be making more of these bags in the future. The Unity stamps used are "Plump Polka Dots", "I Think You Are Beautiful", "Could I be Any Cuter?", and a little tag stamp from a grab bag. Wood veneers and paper are from past Studio Calico card kits.
And lastly, I must share the birthday card from my hubs. He made me a GIF! (ladies, don't be jealous)
Have a fabulous weekend!

Spooky Cards
Halloween is on its way! Whether you like it or not, the stores are filled with costumes and pumpkins and the yummy snack size candies! Halloween is one of the holidays I like to send out a mass amount of cards to friends and family, so I always need a head start!
I'm sharing a set of 3 cards that were quick to put together. All of them were made in one short sitting, and I love that they're still different. All of the cards use papers from DCWV new "Spooky Time" stack... so perfect for the upcoming season :)
This card was messy and fun to create. I used the Spooky Time mat stack and the 12x12 to get the larger banner. I used some sand paper to messy up all of the edges. Every paper piece is also distressed with "Wild Honey" Distress Ink. The corners were rolled up for a little extra grunge.
I love these skulls. This paper makes for a great background as well as a focal point on your card. See what I did to his eyes? I added black sequins and a dab of silver Liquid Pearls to make his eyes creepier. The banners were just trimmed from the paper.
I really looove the texture in this card. I combined some of the Spooky Time papers with the Grunge stack (perfect for Halloween textures!). I heat embossed the 'BOO' in white. I was happily surprised that the embossing even worked, and worked so easily. I played up the messy white flecks and inked all of the edges with white chalk ink.
I hope this inspires you to get started on your Halloween crafts! October is less than 2 weeks away!
I'm also entering each of these cards to the Moxie Fab Handmade Card Challenge: Ready-made Embellishments. Each of these cards uses the pattern paper as the star!

All that glitters is GOLD
Now I have that Smash Mouth song stuck in my head ;)
I was so happy to see how well the gold emboss worked with this woodgrain stamp! It was all the gold the card needed. The leaves are embossed in teal and navy and watercolored with a light brown. It's tough to see in the photo, but the white edges of the card are distressed in light blue.
I have two golden cards today, both using Unity stamps for Friends with Flair Friday hop, and both with touches of gold for the Moxie Fab gold challenge.

The next card is pink, gold, and full of wine!
This fun stamp looks so cute with the pops of gold glitter. I wanted the paper to have the color of pale grapes, so this DCWV 'Haute Pink' worked so well... and it already had gold foil!
And is the sentiment true or totally true? Especially on a Friday!

Yeti Hugs!
This post is getting squeezed in just in time for the Lawnscaping challenge "Favorite Things". I have been waiting 14 days for my newest Lawn Fawn products to arrive, and they came in the mail today... just in time! I know I've only owned these stamps for 4 hours, but I know they are my FAVORITE Lawn Fawn stamps in the history of ever.
The adorable little Yeti was the first one I inked up. I also made my first ever shaker card (which are a favorite, but I've always been too afraid to try for myself!).
You can't say no to a hug like that! I also need to share why this is part of my 'favorite things'... I have great memories of my dad and I at Disneyland. He assured me that the Matterhorn was the best ride in the entire park, and we'd get to see the abominable snowman. Well we rode the ride over and over again and went on each of the different tracks until we got to see him. There is nothing like being in Disneyland with your daddy and screaming at the Yeti!!
Yup. A shaker card. My first shaker card. I learned a loooot about this style, made a lot of mistakes along the way, but I learned for next time. The most important? Make the background one layer :)
There some fun flocking powder on his earmuffs so he can stay nice and warm in the Matterhorn blizzards :)
