Chevrons and Circles

Who knew??

Last week held some very very happy mail days for me. I received so many new goodies to play with, happy Easter cards from friends and family, some new squishy bath mats... but most exciting of all was my very first Simon Says Stamp card kit!!

The colors and papers from the kit are so pretty and easy to work with. Most of the main items are from Fancy Pants "Park Bench" collection and the stamp set is Simon Says Stamp "Happy Every Day". Here are my card kit creations!...

I die cut random circles in the chevron paper and backed it with the light blue. I masked the sentiment stamp to stamp one word in each circle, and then the full sentiment on the banner.

This sentiment stamp actually has two stars on either side of it. I'm not always a star person, so I cut the stars off the sentiment and used them as individual mini stamps. Now I don't need to mask the whole sentiment anytime I want a little baby star. Sentiment is heat embossed, additional twine from The Twinery and We R Memory Keepers.

The little pocket envelopes in the kit are adorable. This one is spruced up with a sentiment stamp and some washi tape.

I loved using the border stamps in the set to create my own patterns around the cards. This card uses only items available through the kit.

The inspiration page that arrived with the kit had this beautiful card with a negative circle and stamping on clear vellum. I had to try it out myself. I die cut the circle, then found some plastic sheet in my stash to back it. I used StazOn ink to prevent smudging on the plastic. Other than the plastic sheet, all other materials on this card are from the kit.

I still have a lot more to play with. I'm happy with this kit and excited to get more each month :)

Happy Friday!
