This has been the most challenging challenge I have ever done over at the Moxie Fab World. To make five cards that cost no more than $5 including papers, buttons, embellies, stamps etc.
This challenge also had some super high points and super lows: The good part is that I realized (once again) just how amazing my bloggy friends are. The bad part was realizing just how really effing expensive this hobby is!
I made five cards using only items and materials that I had been given from bloggy friends or won as blog candy. My husband says this was probably cheating, but I think it's being resourceful just as Cath suggested :)
The only items in all of these cards that I paid for was the mini ticket stamp ($1 from imaginescence) and 14 little pearl/bling embellies ($0.20 total). Everything else used was given to me by my amazing bloggy world!
Kraft card base: Hero Arts flickr group prize

'Thank you for being you': sent to me from Virginia (SRM stickers)
All colored paper: sent to me from Kristen (random brand assortment)
'Thank you' rub on: sent to me from Kristen (bo bunny rub ons)
Black ribbon: I saved it from a jewelry bag package :)

Embellies: $0.20
Total: $1.20
That's the breakdown! How many times can I say I HAVE THE BEST BLOGGY FRIENDS!

ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! I totally had the same thought, to use things I'd received as blog candy, and talked myself out of it...grrr...but I still had fun with this challenge. To be able to do the entire thing? Simply amazing! I think my favourite has to be the fab colours of the lotus card!
