12 Tags of Christmas {day 5}

Day 5! We're almost to the halfway mark! Right now I'm sharing my tag for Day 5, but I invite you to come back around 5:00 EST for another post about my painting I just finished :) It looks good on the wall already

Here is Tim Holtz's tag for Day 5

Today he did some tricky techniques with reflections, alcohol ink, clear paper etc it looks awesome but way too complex for me early in the morning.

I tried to mimic his background by arranging lots of Christmas sentiment stamps on one block to get the graphic subway art look. Some of the stamps (Hero Arts ahem ahem) were a different thickness than the others so I had to save space for those and stamp separately.

Not a bad fake-out, huh? I stamped them all with red ink, and embossed with white powder. I didn't even have to acid dissolve anything ;)

my tag day 5 (sorry, cloudy day out today!)

Using a free 'branch' SVG file from Make the Cut gallery and my Silhouette SD, I cut the branches out in 4 different sizes. Then colored them with green Colorbox chalk ink, arranged and glued it all together, added a bow and silver Stickles.

Stamps used are: Hero Arts "Very Merry Christmas", Martha Stewart "Christmas", Lawn Fawn "Cozy Christmas", and Inkadinkado "Christmas Characters".
