My fave gift was last year. My brother gave me an antique dolly. Not a baby doll dolly...an old steamer trunk dolly...that was used to load steamer trunks onto ships! I have an antique trunk, too.

Last year when I turned 29 again - I mean 40, my best friend from college, Liliana came to visit me for the first time (I visit her and her husband in Miami at least every other year). We had a girls weekend in Savannah and ate ourselves silly at Paula Dean's lunch buffet. We had so much fun she's planning on coming up again this year and we're planning to go to Charleston!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite birthday gift ever was from my parents. On my 18th birthday they bought me tickets for the three of us to go see my favorite band, Midnight Oil. This has been my fave band since I was about 6 so I was pretty excited, especially since they were Australian and made it to the U.S. very rarely.

ReplyDeleteMy most memorable birthday was when I turned 40. Some friend of mine gathered a bunch of old bras and had their husbands (they had to use ladders)decorate a huge blue spruce in our front yard with them. They also put a huge banner on our double garage door that read: "Theresa's bustin' 40!" The funniest part was me trying to get the bras out of the tree the next day. I had to use a broomstick to reach the bras on the top and was "flinging" them out into the street trying to get them off!!
